What are the benefits of a collapsible water bottle

The most obvious benefit of a collapsible or foldable water bottle is that it takes up less space when you’re not using it. Making these bottles a top choice for travelling, back-packing and to have in your emergency kit.

Like any reusable water bottle they are better for the environment than buying water in plastic bottles, and better for your wallet too, as you don’t have to buy many bottles of water to recoup the cost.

  • Collapsible water bottles tend to be lighter than stainless steel or glass bottles. This makes them great if you’re planning on carrying your water bottle, whether that’s on a long hike, or just in your handbag while you go to the shops. The lower weight is also perfect for children who tend to have heavy enough school bags already without having the addition of a heavy water bottle.
  • They are easy to carry. When empty a collapsible bottle can be collapsed or folded to easily fit in your bag or pocket. And even if they are not empty you can squash them. You get the benefit of not having water sloshing about as you walk when the bottle is half full. And you don’t have to have a hard bottle digging into your back or bashing your legs depending on how you carry your water.
  • They are designed to be durable. Silicone, in particular, is a very durable material that is flexible, hardwearing and easy to clean, while also being completely food safe. Silicone also has the benefit of being able to withstand extreme temperatures so you can freeze water in a silicone bottle to use as an ice pack. Or use them for hot drinks. And while they don’t have the same insulative properties as an insulated bottle, you’ll still be less likely to burn your hands than you would with a single wall stainless steel water bottle.
  • Collapsible bottles are flexible, making them great for children or situations where you don’t want to be carrying a hard bottle. Kids (and plenty of adults to be fair) also have a habit of dropping water bottles. Hard plastic bottles have a tendency to shatter and even a stainless steel bottle will dent. Silicone bottles, on the other hand, can take a beating and show no ill effects. Just keep them away from sharp objects as you can puncture them if you’re not careful.

We also happen to think that our range of collapsible bottles look great too.

Rex London’s bottles fold completely flat when not in use and have great designs. We particularly love the kid’s range which is perfect for picnics and lunch boxes and great to take camping.

Que bottles are 100% plastic-free, come in a great range of colours and, as if that’s not enough, Que donate 10% of their profits to the Rainforest Trust.
