Natural Toner

Used after cleansing and before applying moisturiser, a toner will help remove any last impurities, freshen the skin, help tighten pores and improve your skins ability to absorb your moisturiser. Sprayed throughout the day a toner will revitalise the skin and your mood, cooling in hot weather and hydrating the skin.

Natural Organic Toner

How to find the best toner for you. We know what cleansers do for our skin but do we need to incorporate a facial toner too? Our first experience with toners would likely have been homemade toners used on a cotton pad to help remove excess oils from our oily teenage skin. Many of us probably experimented with rose water or witch hazel from the pharmacy in our teens and then moved on to a store bought toner as we got older and our skin care routines developed. Often those store-bought toners were harsh astringents which left skin feeling tight and uncomfortable. They weren’t doing us any favours at all. Times changed and toners went out of fashion as one step cleanser/toners were introduced to the market.

Now we have come full circle and we know of the benefits to our skin from using organic toners as part of our natural skincare routine. Shop our selection of natural floral hydrosols and organic toners.

Calming Toner

Using a skin toner can calm problematic skin types. Anti-inflammatory plant ingredients such as Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera), Lavender essential oil, Geranium and Green tea are often used in natural toners to soothe and heal.

Geranium will also help to regulate sebum production in an oily skin.

A skin toner will help to remove the last traces of cleansing cream or oils whilst protecting the natural oils in your skin.

Protecting your own natural oils is important if you have problematic skin. Your sebum glands can go into overdrive or decrease oil production if your natural oils are disrupted and this can be disastrous for your skin.

A rose water toner will hydrate and balance combination skin and can be used as a treatment for sensitive skin conditions such as rosacea.

Treating Skin

It is important to choose an alcohol-free toner. Most natural toners are made from distilled water that comes from the steam distillation of flowers and plants. These toners are called hydrosols and are a treat to use. Delivered in a spray bottle the hydrosol can be misted over your face to soothe and treat your skin.

The natural ingredients will benefit irritated skin and help to tone down redness on your face.

Acne prone skin can often have enlarged pores and a natural skin toner with essential oils of frankincense, tea tree and alcohol-free witch hazel can help to refine those pores and improve their appearance.

Tea tree is a natural astringent and antibacterial oil and works very well for acne-prone skin.

Dry skin can benefit from the use of a toner for quick bursts of hydration during the day and also prevent makeup from disappearing into fine lines and wrinkles.

If you choose to use your floral toner as a makeup fixer then simply spritz a fine mist over your finished face before going out.

You can reactivate your makeup with a spritz later in the day.

Top Tips for choosing and using a Toner

Organic toner can also be used to refresh hair if you don’t have time to wash it. Use in the sun to cool your face and body or spritz to leave a delicate scent in your bedroom before bed too.

Our natural organic toners are so pure and kind to skin that you can use them on your baby when out and about.

Use to damp your reusable wipes and wash your child’s mucky face or hands. Spray onto sweaty hair or onto little bottoms to refresh their skin.

No one said they could only be used on your face!

Have a look at our selection of all natural and organic toners and put one into your basket. You won’t regret it.

We only choose to stock skincare products and brands that are cruelty-free. This is important to us and we know that it is important to you too.
