Are you buff enough?
If you have used a facial scrub or exfoliating cleanser as part of your skincare routine, then your skin is perfectly prepped to receive the nutrients that a natural face mask will deliver. Choose a face scrub from our selection of organic exfoliators to compliment your face mask!
Facial masks or face pack are designed to be left on for anything from 5 to 30 minutes. You choose how long you have to spend and choose the mask that will suit your needs.
Which natural face mask for my skin type?
A clay mask is excellent for drawing impurities from the skin and many people with oily skin benefit from the organic ingredients in a mud or clay mask. Some clay masks can make your skin feel tight as they dry whilst working. This action traps the dead skin cells and sloughs them off. Rinse off with warm water to reveal your soft glowing skin. *It is important to note that clay cannot be certified organic because it is a natural mineral, not a product of farming.*
Sea mud masks make great hydrating masks for dry skin and sensitive skin. Sea mud can improve circulation by bringing a rosy glow as well as hydrating your face and neck. Remove your mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a clean soft towel.
Fun Face Packs – Organic face masks
We like face packs that are fun to use yet deliver results. Have you seen the Wild Olive fresh masks that we stock? They are just like homemade face packs except you don ‘t have the mess or the sourcing of ingredients.
Wash your face and apply a layer of this fresh mix. Leave it to do its work. Let the essential oils sink into your skin and treat any issues. You can wash off with a muslin cloth or flannel and then splash your face with cold water for an extra tightening effect.
Be warned, these natural ingredients smell good enough to eat and you may feel hungry after your treatment. We advise you to keep a good stock of our fair trade chocolates to hand just in case the munchies attack!
If you do like to make up your own mask to give your super fresh natural ingredients, you could choose Mungo Murphy ‘s Seaweed mask. The seaweed is cleverly ground into a powder that you can re-hydrate using honey, natural yoghurt or olive oil. Apply to clean skin, leave to work for 5-10 minutes then remove with warm water.
This is an exfoliating mask and will remove dead skin cells as you remove the mask.
Balm Balm hibiscus flower face mask is another that you can make up yourself. It has Rose Geranium essential oil, Rice Flour and ground Hibiscus flower as its ingredients.
This mask is mixed with a drop of warm water and it will turn lilac in colour once it’s ready to be used. 100% organic and certified by COSMOS.* This organic face mask has a floral scent of hibiscus and the rice flour is gently exfoliating.
You will feel your skin tighten when the mask is on. You will notice visibly tighter pores after using this mask and it is a great buy for an oily skin.
*COSMOS organic products contain no GM ingredients, parabens and phthalates, synthetic colours, dyes or fragrances or any other controversial chemicals. They are cruelty-free, made from biodegradable ingredients only and come in minimal packaging with maximum recycled content.
